Navy Tunic Sweater | Grace & Lace | Teacherfashionista | Jules

Today I am sharing another blog-worthy look from Grace & Lace. This tunic top will be such a great piece for transitioning into spring. Because it is a sort of knit-lace material, it is breezy, light, and comfortable. The neck can be worn completely off-the-shoulders, or scrunched up for more of a boat-neck look like I wore it. I layered this open-knit tunic with a navy undergarment, but it would also look awesome with something white underneath. I know that once it’s warm enough out, this will go so perfectly with a pair of white denim shorts, a white layering tank, and some platform wedge sandals. (Spring and summer tan come quickly, lol!)  Outfit Details:  My jeans are out of stock, these are almost identical   |  c/o Romantic Lace … Read More

Back to School | Banana Republic Factory | Casual Friday | Teacherfashionista | Jules

We made it! It’s Friday! Friday mornings are my FAVORITE ! I mean – Saturdays REALLY are, but let’s be real – when we finally get to Friday we know some R&R is right around the corner. I always wake up eager to get through the day and on to the weekend! During the school year, I appreciate dressing for “Casual Fridays.” My school allows us to wear blue denim any day of the week as long as it is not faded or distressed (who is wearing that kind of denim to work, anyway!? Sign me up for that job, lol!!). I typically try to save my blue denim for Fridays, and this look with Banana Republic Factory’s peplum top has me … Read More

Styling Black Denim: Back to School with Banana Republic Factory

Teacher FashionistaFeatured Collaborations, Teacher Styles, Wear to Work1 Comment

Do you ever head to happy hour or dinner out after work? Then this post on styling black denim is for you! About once every two weeks, my husband and I end up meeting for dinner out. On those days, I like wearing an outfit that I can change or add simple touches to in order to take it from work to “play.” During my “back to school” shopping experience with Banana Republic Factory, I tried on their high-rise skinny denim for the first time. Ladies – the fit does not disappoint! The fabric feels fabulous and the fit is slimming. I totally appreciate that the denim is dark, thick material and suitable to wear any day of the week. It is easy … Read More

We’re headed back to school, and the summers feel shorter and shorter with each passing year! I don’t know a single teacher who doesn’t feel like we just locked our classroom doors ready to enjoy the freedoms of summer time. However, here we are – ready or not. Some of us have already started the school year, and some of us have the start date quickly approaching. Regardless, we are all in planning mode! Outfit planning can be an important part of planning for the school year, too! A teacher who looks and feels his/her best will feel more empowered to take on a day of endless tasks, questions, chatty students, and more. And, if you’re a fashionista like me, you look forward to dressing up everyday! … Read More

Flare Jeans + Off the Shoulder Top

Today I’m sharing two old trends I love that have come back around: flare jeans and off-the-shoulder tops! Flares with heels or wedges give girls the opportunity to sport something other than skinny jeans. Let’s face it – if you’re like me, there are days you just don’t want to squeeze into your skinnies, lol! Off-the-shoulder tops are such feminine pieces. If you find just the right one, it can go with quite a few outfits. I like a simple style like this one from She-In. It is PERFECT because you can wear the “sleeves” off the shoulders or pull the “sleeves” up for more modesty. The Teacher Tote you Need!

Teacher FashionistaFeatured CollaborationsLeave a Comment

You may remember my first post spilling my excitement about the TEACHER FASHiONiSTA Line of totes by Ooh Baby Designs! (You can read about it here.) With the school year quickly approaching, it is not only time to start getting my classroom ready – it is also time to get ME ready! In my opinion, every teacher should have a go-to tote to bring to school everyday. Why? It needs to hold together your “teacher life” on your way to school, on your way home from school, and over the weekends when you [sadly] have to bring work home. With that in mind, Stephanie and I partnered together to develop a line of high fashion teacher totes and they are on a special … Read More

Vibrant Summer Maxi

Bennie C’s Boutique has a number of affordable, simple, and beautiful clothing choices. I enjoy finding these little boutiques because then you end up with unique pieces you don’t see on everyone else. Here I go again – expanding the maxi dress section of my closet. And I don’t mind one little bit! The vibrant colors in this maxi make it stand out in any crowd. It is a perfect choice for a warm, summer day as the material is light-weight, and it has side slits to the knees on both sides. The dress is lined, which is nice so you don’t get stuck trying to wear a slip on a hot day. I found wearing a bandeau helped me feel comfortable and modest, and you … Read More

Maxi Dress Dream

This dress from Fashion Junkee is such a dream! Seriously. I have worn it once a week since I got it… to work, to church, shopping, and to dinner. Not only is the large floral pattern so feminine, the tube top is not too tight, and the dress has super cute pockets! I also just love it because it goes anywhere – dressed up or down, and it is such an easy yet put-together outfit. Whenever I wear tube tops, I love pairing them with bigger statement pieces, so this long beaded necklace worked perfectly. Maxi dresses are a summer staple in my closet – I could never own too many. I took this dress to work with a white denim vest. I … Read More
