Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I Bought The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is SO good, guys, although I was disappointed in this year’s affordable dress selection. Have any of you already done your shopping? I can’t wait for my purchases to arrive so I can share what I bought! …I had so many things in my cart, and when I went to the check out had to narrow it down based on the list I had made before the sale started. Good thing I had done that… IT WAS HARD! I was dying over all of the great basic sweaters and sweatshirts this year, but really felt I needed to update in other areas of my closet. I ended up with things … Read More

Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale on a budget?! I know that literally hundreds of bloggers will be covering this popular sale, but I am hoping to cover things that I look for, purchase as a teacher on a budget, as well as my favorite picks under $50. Last year I blogged about the big SALE in this post, and had a blast sharing my shopping experience. There is so much hype around the sale, and honestly I didn’t even know it existed until I started following mega fashion bloggers 3+ years ago. Once I started learning what the sale was all about, I began using it to shop for staples and additions to my wardrobe that can be worn multiple … Read More

Achieving a casual date night look with your closet staples can get you a pretty classic and put-together outfit. Last minute date night? No problem. Look around for your favorite pair of jeans, a white tee, and then start pulling in colors with a fun bag or clutch, and of course jewelry. The hardest decision might be if you want to wear flats or heels! In the summer, a good compromise is a fun pair of wedges. Using staple pieces can bring an outfit together quickly for any last minute plans to go out. The Denim Raw hems are all the rage this season, so you can imagine my excitement when Silver Jeans fashioned my favorite Sukis with this trend! … Read More

Maurices just gets me. I have been a long-time shopper at this favorite boutique since back in high school. I grew up in rural southern Minnesota, which left me shopping at Walmart, ShopKo, and even Pamida! So once Maurices popped up in our teeny tiny mall, my sisters and I were ecstatic and went ALL THE TIME. They have been my go-to for dress pants, dresses, work clothes, casual clothes, jewelry, and shoes. I bought my first pair of Silver Jeans back in the day there, too! So it is no surprise that my recent visit found me in this amazing Hanky Hem dress. After I put it on, I just knew it was for me. The fit is easy-going, … Read More

Find some frayed, distressed denim in white, black, or blue jean. Make it a boho look with a summer vest or kimono, duster, wrap, or oversized sweater (for those cool nights). Match them to one of … Read More
