White Easter Dress | Scalloped Hem | Teacherfashionista | Jules

My fashion journey today stems from my past “obsession” when I was younger (read more here), and Easter fashion is no exception! When I was a little girl, my favorite thing about Easter was picking out which spring dress I was going to pull out for Easter Sunday’s church service. My sisters and I always did this together, and it was so fun putting those black Mary Janes away and pulling out our white sandals. This memory lives on for me even still! I love finding a dress that emulates the spring season. With all of the fun that comes with Easter, in thankfulness I pause for the sacrifice that was made for you and me – the reason we celebrate Easter. Jesus said to her, … Read More

Knit-Lace Navy Tunic

Navy Tunic Sweater | Grace & Lace | Teacherfashionista | Jules

Today I am sharing another blog-worthy look from Grace & Lace. This tunic top will be such a great piece for transitioning into spring. Because it is a sort of knit-lace material, it is breezy, light, and comfortable. The neck can be worn completely off-the-shoulders, or scrunched up for more of a boat-neck look like I wore it. I layered this open-knit tunic with a navy undergarment, but it would also look awesome with something white underneath. I know that once it’s warm enough out, this will go so perfectly with a pair of white denim shorts, a white layering tank, and some platform wedge sandals. (Spring and summer tan come quickly, lol!)  Outfit Details:  My jeans are out of stock, these are almost identical   |  c/o Romantic Lace … Read More

Car Wash Skirt | Who What Wear | Teacherfashionista

Target’s Who What Wear collection is so much fun to shop! There are a number of fabulous patterns and palettes throughout the line, and they are easy to mix and match with staple pieces you probably already have in your closet. Think navies, maroons, blacks, whites, and olives. Fall is here, and I always keep my eye out for clothes that transition well from “Indian summers” into the cool autumn temperatures that will eventually come. This “Car Wash Skirt” is like a new take on pleats. It is SO flowy and flirty, especially in the breeze. The fit of this skirt reminds me of a more snug pencil skirt, but the fabric pieces attached along the top that garnish the skirt give it a full and airy look.   In … Read More

Flare Jeans + Off the Shoulder Top

Today I’m sharing two old trends I love that have come back around: flare jeans and off-the-shoulder tops! Flares with heels or wedges give girls the opportunity to sport something other than skinny jeans. Let’s face it – if you’re like me, there are days you just don’t want to squeeze into your skinnies, lol! Off-the-shoulder tops are such feminine pieces. If you find just the right one, it can go with quite a few outfits. I like a simple style like this one from She-In. It is PERFECT because you can wear the “sleeves” off the shoulders or pull the “sleeves” up for more modesty. Hanky Hem Dress + Life Lately

Maurices just gets me. I have been a long-time shopper at this favorite boutique since back in high school. I grew up in rural southern Minnesota, which left me shopping at Walmart, ShopKo, and even Pamida! So once Maurices popped up in our teeny tiny mall, my sisters and I were ecstatic and went ALL THE TIME. They have been my go-to for dress pants, dresses, work clothes, casual clothes, jewelry, and shoes. I bought my first pair of Silver Jeans back in the day there, too! So it is no surprise that my recent visit found me in this amazing Hanky Hem dress. After I put it on, I just knew it was for me. The fit is easy-going, … Read More

You might remember when I shared my love for scallops in this previous post!  I can’t believe there is another scalloped dress in a new shade. How lucky can a girl get to find this gem in such a great summer color?! Top reasons I love scalloped hems: 1. They add a feminine vibe 2. They make a plain dress unique 3. They make it easy to look put-together   This scalloped dress can be as dressy as you want it to be. You could wear it as a wedding guest with sparkling heels like these and a cute statement necklace like this one. I love it as a Sunday dress, too! The nude sandal heels in this post are such a beautiful choice for summer and go so well … Read More

Vibrant Summer Maxi

Bennie C’s Boutique has a number of affordable, simple, and beautiful clothing choices. I enjoy finding these little boutiques because then you end up with unique pieces you don’t see on everyone else. Here I go again – expanding the maxi dress section of my closet. And I don’t mind one little bit! The vibrant colors in this maxi make it stand out in any crowd. It is a perfect choice for a warm, summer day as the material is light-weight, and it has side slits to the knees on both sides. The dress is lined, which is nice so you don’t get stuck trying to wear a slip on a hot day. I found wearing a bandeau helped me feel comfortable and modest, and you … Read More
