Do you ever head to happy hour or dinner out after work? Then this post on styling black denim is for you! About once every two weeks, my husband and I end up meeting for dinner out. On those days, I like wearing an outfit that I can change or add simple touches to in order to take it from work to “play.” During my “back to school” shopping experience with Banana Republic Factory, I tried on their high-rise skinny denim for the first time. Ladies – the fit does not disappoint! The fabric feels fabulous and the fit is slimming. I totally appreciate that the denim is dark, thick material and suitable to wear any day of the week. It is easy … Read More

Pink Scalloped Dress

Teacher FashionistaFor Play, For Work, Special Occassions, Summer Fashion, Teacher Styles, Wear to Work2 Comments

You might remember when I shared my love for scallops in this previous post!  I can’t believe there is another scalloped dress in a new shade. How lucky can a girl get to find this gem in such a great summer color?! Top reasons I love scalloped hems: 1. They add a feminine vibe 2. They make a plain dress unique 3. They make it easy to look put-together   This scalloped dress can be as dressy as you want it to be. You could wear it as a wedding guest with sparkling heels like these and a cute statement necklace like this one. I love it as a Sunday dress, too! The nude sandal heels in this post are such a beautiful choice for summer and go so well … Read More

Maxi Dress Dream

This dress from Fashion Junkee is such a dream! Seriously. I have worn it once a week since I got it… to work, to church, shopping, and to dinner. Not only is the large floral pattern so feminine, the tube top is not too tight, and the dress has super cute pockets! I also just love it because it goes anywhere – dressed up or down, and it is such an easy yet put-together outfit. Whenever I wear tube tops, I love pairing them with bigger statement pieces, so this long beaded necklace worked perfectly. Maxi dresses are a summer staple in my closet – I could never own too many. I took this dress to work with a white denim vest. I … Read More

Hot Pink Shift Dress

Hot pink will brighten up anyone’s day! Today I am featuring a dress from The Mint Julep Boutique. It has a light, airy material and a nice bright hue… pair it with neon accessories like this necklace, and you are ready for summer! I wanted to style this dress for work, so I chose calmer colors to pair with it. I wore some neutral tassel sandals by Sshoes.  (Read more about these comfortable, quiet heels in this post.) This dress is comfortable and modest for work with the higher neckline and the length hitting near the knee. It has the cutest criss-cross design going down the sides. I always love little details like that! I could also see myself throwing on a jacket over … Read More

April FLEW and I can’t believe I’m already rounding up my April looks for this blog post!  I have 10 work styles from the past month, and 3 weekend ootd’s. April is typically the first month we hit 100 degrees – and it did happen. However, we have had some cooler days too. I will always welcome a cool spring! It will be hot soon enough! 🙂 See all #ootd details below each picture. (Similar details are listed if the exact piece is not available.) Today I am featuring the beautiful boutique Grace & Lace. The story behind the start of this shop is so touching, and I am honored to style some of their pieces. They have been featured on shows like Shark Tank and The View – so fans – check them out! Nothing welcomes spring like bright colors! Their Ikat Wrap comes in two colors and can be worn as a wrap, vest, scarf, or swimsuit cover-up. Anyone who knows me and my budget-friendly “hunts” all over the web knows I totally enjoy pieces that are versatile – so I love this wrap! I styled it a few different ways and thought the colorful pattern went so nicely with stripes! _________________________ Worn as a Wrap Outfit Details: Striped Dress  |  Ikat Wrap  … Read More

Scalloped Dress + Tassel Heels

Teacher FashionistaFeatured Collaborations, For Work, Professional, Summer Fashion, Teacher Styles, Wear to Work1 Comment

I have seen a number of beautiful scalloped skirts, dresses, and tops, but have not found a dress with beautiful scallops quite like this one! I think this navy dress is perfect – long enough to be professional for work, and pretty enough to take out for a Sunday in church. I paired it with these cute tassel heels! They are crafted by Ssh Shoes to be comfortable and quiet. This is just great for work because they have a non-slip, sound absorbing rubber sole, and a noise reducing heel so they do not make as much noise when you walk. There are multiple styles and colors – see more of their collections here. Outfit Details: Scalloped Dress  |  Ssh Shoes  |  Bracelets here and here  |  Earrings The scalloped … Read More

At the end of every month, I like to post my 4 top favorite #ootd’s (outfits of the day) on my Instagram. Now that I have a blog going, I thought it might be helpful to ’round up’ the looks and list the details below (similar details are listed if the exact piece is not available). I have 7 work styles from March, and 3 weekend ootd’s. The weather in Arizona has been pretty up and down with near 90 degree temperatures to temps in the low 60’s (which then feels freezing!).  I noticed as I was putting this all together that I have been very into stripes, blacks, whites, and blues… pretty normal for me! See all #ootd details below. – – … Read More
