You may have noticed (especially if you follow along on Instagram) that I have had so much fun layering with dresses! I guess in Arizona, our temperatures allow us to do that pretty easily during our “cool” months. I wanted to share a recent gem I found – a navy swing dress! Old Navy sold the most beautiful burgundy dress in the fall season (see that post here), and unfortunately I was too late to order it in more than one color. Since the day it sold out, I have been on the hunt for a dress just like it. And friends, my search is up! This dress is from SheIn Clothing, and is long enough for work, and the material is thick and flattering. It comes … Read More

Tunics are such a fabulous piece to have in your wardrobe for fall and winter! They are long and flowy, and can take you from work to a night out, and into the weekend with style. I found my tunic at Nordstrom Rack for a little over $30, and also saw this similar one for those of you who may not want a collar. (I also usually layer my tunics with a cami like this one.) 3 Ways to Style your Tunic to help Maximize your Wardrobe (Please pardon the way my tunic is glowing in these photos – that’s the beauty of using an iPhone & snap remote!) 1. Take your Tunic to Work or Meetings For a winter look, I paired my … Read More

January is here! Full swing into winter! I especially love pulling out blacks and whites, and then adding pops of color with either a vest, bag, scarf, or jewelry. With the season comes the promise of boots and tights weather, and it is so fun to find pretty little dresses to go with them! I received this dress for my birthday from my sister and think it’s a gorgeous winter plaid. I found that pairing it with tights (or even leggings) really brought it into the colder season. Styling Winter Plaid Since Arizona gets such a mild winter, I thought the sleeves looked cute cuffed up, although the sleeve length was just perfect when they were left down, too! E gave me this beautiful cross body bag for my … Read More

Olive Green Jacket

Olive green has been a “hot hue” for a few years now, and this fall, I decided to find one of those coveted green, military-inspired jackets. Finding the perfect one proved to be difficult because there are so many to choose from! Being on a teacher’s budget, I didn’t want to spend over $100 on a jacket. So when I saw this one for under $50, I knew I had to try it! Dressing the Olive Jacket Trend I chose peep-toe booties to wear with this outfit to bring it into our fall season. I also really like how the taupe-colored top accents the olive green. This is the top I posted on Instagram a while back that has darling ruffle sleeves. If the sun … Read More

If you are starting to build your wardrobe, or want to add to it – here are some of the basics to help you start building! Closet Basics … Read More

Dare to Flare

Teacher FashionistaCasual, Featured Collaborations, Teacher Styles, Wear to Work, Weekend Wear

Hello 70’s! I am one of those people who is excited to see flare jeans again! They add some diversity when I’m making choices on which “bottoms” to wear instead of just the go-to skinnies. Silver Jeans have been my favorite fit in jeans since I was in high school. I have had various washes and styles ranging from boot cut to skinnies, and have loved them all. Suki Mid Flare Jeans Today I’m wearing a new style: the Suki Mid Flare by Silver Jeans Co. I am a girl with curves in the middle (if you know what I mean), and I don’t want gaping around the waist because of that – which is what brought me to the Silver Jeans brand years … Read More
