Silver Jeans | Black Skinny Jeans | Dress up or down | Teacherfashionista | Jules

Ever find that perfect pair of jeans that can be dressed up or down and work with each look perfectly? First of all, I have to brag on my favorite brand of jeans… Silvers. This company knows fit SO well, and they get it right every time – hugging in all the right places and following the latest trends. My most recent pair are a new black skinny style that I found work well for Saturday errands or a night out. Silver Jeans: Dressing Down I think this Aiko skinny style looks so cute with an oversized tee. And, you can easily transition this look to fall by throwing on a scarf – namely a leopard one – and your … Read More

Ruffle Sleeve Dress | Fall Floral Dress | Teacherfashionista | Jules

The bell and ruffle sleeve trend is so popular right now! I have had such a hard time finding a style that works for me, though, without feeling like they’re going to slip into my food or get in my way even with my long arms. Every time I’ve been to Old Navy recently, I have to admit that I absolutely couldn’t stop looking at how pretty this gray and cream floral print was! I passed on it a few times while I browsed through all of the pretty new clothes in the store, until I decided to just give it a try-on since the ruffle sleeves were a 3/4 length. Let me tell you, I just died over the … Read More

Holiday Party | Holiday Dress | Faux Wrap Dress | Teacherfashionista | Jules

Finding a party look that works for cold temperatures can be challenging at times. Lace, elbow sleeves, comfort, and a flattering silhouette are some of the first things I search for when it comes to planning a holiday party outfit. Normally, I am all about finding a color or displaying my love for sequins and sparkle around Christmas or New Year’s, but the fit of this dress and the classy vibe it gives off drew me right in! I love classic pieces, and who doesn’t swoon over a flattering wrap dress? This faux-wrap dress is easy to wear and looks put together. The fabric is casual, but I dressed it up a lot by adding sparkle with my heels and shiny necklace. Picture a … Read More

Casual Holiday Wear | Teacherfashionista | Jules

How was your Thanksgiving holiday? Did any of you get out to shop over Black Friday? E and I had the best little getaway over Thanksgiving at a rental cabin 3 hours north of Phoenix. It was chilly with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 40’s – so we stayed cozy inside, eating our turkey near the heat, and watching Christmas movies together with our 2 pups. Friday we went out exploring nearby, and took our dogs on a walk in the woods once the temperatures got above 40 degrees. Friday was a chance for me to break out a festive-looking outfit! Not only were we driving around site-seeing in perfectly chilly weather, we also got lunch, and then … Read More

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites Under $50 [show_boutique_widget id=”421703″] Last year, my favorite “splurge” was these Vince Camuto boots. I wore them on repeat SO many times (see this blog post, and I wore them again here, here, and here), so they were worth the investment. As a teacher I definitely need to stick to budget shopping pretty much all the time (and I really … Read More

You may have noticed (especially if you follow along on Instagram) that I have had so much fun layering with dresses! I guess in Arizona, our temperatures allow us to do that pretty easily during our “cool” months. I wanted to share a recent gem I found – a navy swing dress! Old Navy sold the most beautiful burgundy dress in the fall season (see that post here), and unfortunately I was too late to order it in more than one color. Since the day it sold out, I have been on the hunt for a dress just like it. And friends, my search is up! This dress is from SheIn Clothing, and is long enough for work, and the material is thick and flattering. It comes … Read More

Lapel Blazer

Some weeks I can hardly WAIT for another weekend! Eric and I usually do an activity whether it’s hiking, brunching (yes I’m calling that an activity, lol!), driving around, enjoying a local event, or hanging out with friends. Right now the weather in Arizona is amazing and is calling for light long sleeves. However, by mid afternoon, I’m ready for short sleeves! A wonderful solution to this dare I say, “problem” – is a casual blazer. I love how it keeps me warm enough while still allowing me to wear short sleeves underneath in case I get too warm. It also kind of dresses up my outfit at the same time – win win! Styling a Lapel Blazer with my Mimosa Tee This … Read More

Snowy Weekend with Silver Jeans

Teacher FashionistaBy Day, Featured Collaborations, For Play, Weekend Wear, Winter Fashion1 Comment

To celebrate the long MLK Jr. Holiday weekend, E and I traveled almost 2 hours north to enjoy some peace and solitude in the snow! We packed up the truck and our two pups, and had such a fun and relaxing time at a cabin! While we were there, I couldn’t resist taking some photos in the snow. I decided this would be a beautiful place to showcase the new Suki Mid Skinny destroyed denim by Silver Jeans! I have shared in this post why I love the Suki fit.  They hug my body so well, and I am in LOVE with the distresses on this pair. Tunics are such a fabulous piece to have in your wardrobe for fall and winter! They are long and flowy, and can take you from work to a night out, and into the weekend with style. I found my tunic at Nordstrom Rack for a little over $30, and also saw this similar one for those of you who may not want a collar. (I also usually layer my tunics with a cami like this one.) 3 Ways to Style your Tunic to help Maximize your Wardrobe (Please pardon the way my tunic is glowing in these photos – that’s the beauty of using an iPhone & snap remote!) 1. Take your Tunic to Work or Meetings For a winter look, I paired my … Read More
